The 2017 Can-Am Spyder F3 Limited Introduces Touring Capability to the Spyder F3 Family

Orlando, Florida, August 16, 2016 – BRP unveiled its 2017 lineup of Can-Am Spyder models tonight at its annual dealer meeting in Orlando, FL. At the center of the announcements was the Can-Am Spyder F3 model family, as BRP introduced an all-new Spyder F3 Limited that brings touring capability to the Spyder F3 lineup. BRP also announced a lower starting price for the base Spyder F3 – almost 15% lower than 2016 – for those looking to enjoy the benefits of the Spyder F3 at a lower price point.

With this year's changes and additions, there now is a Can-Am Spyder F3 for everyone:

  • The new Spyder F3 Limited is designed for ultimate, 2-up cruiser touring comfort
  • The Spyder F3-T is aimed at "bagger" enthusiasts who enjoy weekend getaways
  • The Spyder F3-S, including the new Daytona 500 Edition, now features SPORT mode for those who want a sportier ride and the ability to perform controlled rear tire spins
  • The base Spyder F3 is the most affordable Spyder F3 ever for people wanting a great sport-focused ride at a lower price

"The Can-Am Spyder F3 Limited completes the Spyder F3 lineup," said Anne Bélec, SVP Global Brand, Communications and PAC (Parts, Accessories and Clothing) at BRP. "Along with its enhanced comfort, convenience and entertainment features, it has all of the characteristics that define the Can-Am Spyder F3, including a cruising riding position, muscular design and exclusive UFit system for custom peg and handlebar positions."

In response to customer feedback for increased storage capacity in the Spyder F3 family, the 2017 Can-Am Spyder F3 Limited has a removable top case with integrated passenger backrest. It has enough storage for two full-face helmets and is easily removable, providing the option of bagger or full touring depending on the journey. The top case is also available as an optional accessory for F3-T owners wanting to upgrade. The Spyder F3 Limited also has many comfort and convenience features, including automatic self-adjusting air suspension, heated grips and footboards and a powerful six-speaker audio system.

"The entire Can-Am Spyder lineup is designed for people to unleash their spirit of adventure while enjoying a balance of performance and peace of mind on the open road," said Bélec. "The 2017 model lineup is a continuation of that focus, with multiple models that fit all lifestyles, including the new Spyder F3 Limited."

Also new for 2017 is a lower starting price – almost 15 percent lower than previous model years – for the base Can-Am Spyder F3 model, which is now the most affordable Spyder F3 ever. The lower price supports one of the core areas of focus for BRP with the Can-Am Spyder, which is to democratize the open road. BRP continues to have success in that area, as approximately one-third of Can-Am Spyder F3 owners are first-time riders.

Within the full touring category, the top-of-the-line 2017 Can-Am Spyder RT Limited is now available in different color options, including Champagne Metallic and Asphalt Gray Metallic. That model also comes equipped with the leading Garmin Zumo 590 GPS.
